If you’re interested in learning how to make banners for youtube videos and headers for your blog you’ve come to the right place!

Today we’re going to take a look at the software called Canva, a software that’s used by professional designers.

For example, I’ve hired people from places like Upwork, and they’ve used the software to create the banners for my niche sites.

It comes with photo filters, icons, shapes, and hundreds of fonts. Making it a one-stop shop for beautiful looking graphics

The software is simple to use, and once you have a template in place, you can use it over and over again to save yourself time.

We’re going to create a custom banner for a YouTube video.

The reasons for creating custom banners is because it helps with the continuity of your channel.

Custom banners also get a lot more user engagement. If you’re scrolling through a suggested video feed and see a thumbnail that tells the viewer what they’re about to watch vs. a thumbnail of a random guy.

It’s highly likely that you’re going to be drawn to the more professional looking video.

To create these banners first, you’ll need an image to use as your background picture. For a whole host of websites that have totally free pictures for you to use and modify check out the link below.

Once you’ve got a suitable image follow the steps:

Head over to Canva.com and pick the dimensions you require
Upload the image that you’ve just downloaded from one of the free resources
Add a heading
The heading may be a little difficult to read so you can change the opacity of the image behind.
You can then also add lots of other free images on top
Once you have everything arranged in a way that looks good download it onto your computer.

Upload it onto your YouTube video making sure that everything is lined up correctly and that you’re able to read the text.

A thing to remember is that not everyone will be viewing on a large monitor, so it’s important to make sure that the font is big enough to read.

You can use this technique for YouTube, and you can also use it to create all your banners for blog posts.

It adds a higher level of professionalism to your work and therefore increases credibility.

Spending a little effort learning how to use this tools will save you lots of money in the future.

You won’t have to hire a designer as you’ll be able to put everything together yourself.

Canva makes design easy and accessible to everyone.
